Arther William Charles King Who sadley passed away in hospital from a stroke.
Grandad was a gentle sole who never hit or raised he's hands to my mum & three uncles or any of us grandchildren.
In his life time grandad was a chimmley sweeper who would go & do his neighbours Chimleys for them. He was loved by a lot of people in Ludwell Nr Shafesbury Dorset. He would do mums chimley. I remember when we were little that me & my sister Pauline would run outside & wait for the brush to come up the chimley then we would shout & let grandad know.
He was also a very good gardener who grew his own fruit & veg. He would always fix things for us like a broken doll or mend our shoes for us. Grandad used to breed rabbits me my sister & two cousins Jo & Fred would get inside the big rabbit run that grandad made & play with the rabbits.
He always came to our house evey sunday for sunday dinner he would tell us stories about when he worked with the cart horses & some funny stories. He was also a great fan of George Formby.
He was so proud in 1983 when my little sister Elaine was born he thought the world of her. One thing I will always remember about my grandad is he was very good at healing sick animals. If ever we found a injured bird we would take it too him to try & make it better. He was there when you needed him. Grandad would always give good advice. I miss that. But I know he is watching over us.
We all Love him very much & still miss him. But I know we will all meet him again.xxxx

When a good person dies.
Night is coming on.
The last birds fly hurriedly to their nests.
Slowly but surely darkness takes possession of the world.
However, no sooner has darkness fallen,
than the lights begin to come on —
below us, around us, above us,
near us and far away from us —
a candle in a window, a lamp in a cellar,
a beacon in a lighthouse, a star in the sky.
And so we take heart and find our way again.
When a good person dies, darkness descends on us.
We feel lost, bereft, forlorn.
But gradually the lights begin to come on
as we recall the good deeds done by the deceased.
They spring up all over the place.
We are amazed at how much light is generated.
In this strange and beautiful light
we not only find our way,
but find the meaning of life itself.
Anon.

♥ The Winding Lane ♥
Down the winding country lane
There's a soft and gentle breeze;
The perfume from the hedgerows
Comes drifting through the trees.
...................................................*ღ*
Birds sing sweet melodies
Bringing calmness to my mind;
My grief is slowly healing;
My sorrows left behind.
...................................................*ღ*
This lane is very special
I walk here every day,
Holding on to memories
Of times now far away.
...................................................*ღ*
For here I find the peace
God promised from the start;
It's found in His creation
To heal each broken heart.

✿ My Place for You ✿
There is a secret place
Within the heart of me
Where thoughts of you return
Like haunting melodies.
The voice I loved, now still,
Is whispering inside,
It stirs fond memories
Which in my heart reside.
Old feelings spring to life;
It is as if you're near,
Speaking words of comfort
"Remember I'm still here".
I know it is a dream
My heart so loves this song;
Souvenirs I store away
In the place where they belong.

For Just A Moment
Copyright 1995 by Brenda Penepent
For just a moment
I’m sure I saw
a flicker of light ahead.
Perhaps it was your smile.
Though past now, remembered,
in my heart
like the small sound of
a butterfly passing by.
No night
is so dark
that can not be brightened
with memories of you.
Raindrops carry along
your blessings from heaven
to wash away my tears
and bring me hope anew.
One Little Candle
By Carol Dunn
It’s just one little candle
One tiny flickering light
A challenge to the darkness
A small beacon in the night.
It could be just a gentle touch
A reminder that you’re there
Or a warm, compassionate hug
That shows you understand and care.
Sometimes it only takes your smile
To encourage and uplift
And should that smile lead to laughter
You’ve shared a special gift.
There’s comfort in shared silence
Or in a softly spoken word
Or in taking time to listen
To feelings that must be heard.
Yes, it’s just one little candle
Softly glowing in the night
But it can overcome the darkness
If it will only share it’s light.
Just one candle at a time
Each one giving from its heart
Reaching out to those nearby
Asking them to do their part.
To make sure the light keeps growing
Reaching out to those in sorrow
Offering comfort, warmth and hope
Strength and courage for tomorrow.

ONENESS
The moment I die,
I will try to come back to you
as quickly as possible.
I promise it will not take long.
Isn't it true
I am already with you,
As I die each moment
I come back to you in every moment.
Just look,
Feel my presence.
If you want to cry,
Please cry.
And know that I will cry with you.
The tears you shed
Will heal us both.
Your tears are mine.
The earth I tread this morning
Transcends history.
Spring and Winter are both present in the moment.
The young leaf and the dead leaf are really one.
My feet touch deathlessness,
And my feet are yours. Walk with me now.
Let us enter the dimension of oneness
And see the cherry tree blossom in Winter.
Why should we talk about death
I don't need to die
To be back with you.

Magic Of A Rainbow
I'll never see a rainbow
That I won't think of you;
Though days seem bleak and dreary
The sun is shining through.
A symbol of God's love fulfilled
In beauty, hope and grace;
A rainbow is a mirror
Reflecting His own face.
It arches o'er the mountains
With Heaven its domain;
Its brilliant colors wakened by
The grayness and the rain.
Now may I see the rainbows sent
To ease my broken heart,
Promising His healing love,
Shine through when teardrops start.
Miraculous, magical rainbows,
Blessing the sadness with peace;
God gently smiling and touching,
Bidding the sadness cease.

♥ From Water Bug to Dragonfly ♥
(Tessa Wilkinson)
The bottom of the pond is muddy and dark
There is fear of the unknown
There is loneliness as things change
There is the desperation of being left behind
Not knowing, not understanding
Watching and waiting
Then the journey comes
Up the stem
What waits beyond?
Sunlight
Freedom
Dancing together in joy with those who went before
And who will come after.

Quietly I Weep
By Lyndie Sorenson
Although I seem to hide it
My sorrow's still so deep
Missing you in silence
Quietly I weep
I long to see your smile
Hear your laughter, hug you tight
But you're no longer with me
You've headed toward the light
I'm sure you are quite happy
Here on earth I miss you so
Asking that same question
Why was it you that had to go?
I am sure there is an answer...
One that might make sense
When others offer reasons
I'm just on the defence
If they could understand me
Know how hard life is with grief
Just hold my hand and listen...
That would be a great relief
Although I seem to hide it
My sorrow's still so deep
Missing you in silence...
Quietly I weep

☼ The Sea and the Beach ☼
(Tessa Wilkinson)
The sea seems to illustrate pain and sorrow so well
It comes in and goes out
For a while it is there, overwhelming, covering everything
Then slowly the tide turns and it withdraws
For a while we can see the beauty of the shells, the seaweed
We can rejoice in the patterns in the sand
We can feel the corrugated ripples under our feet
Alive to what is around, and beyond
But then the tide turns and again it is all washed away, all overwhelmed
We feel like the crashing of the waves on rocks
Raw and out of control
Full of anger and rage
Battered and bruised
Tossed about like flotsam floating wherever we are thrown
There are so many questions. Why now? Why him?
But no answers
Then the sea calms and gently the waves lap the rocks
We are soothed and the inner turmoil is calmed
In time we can learn to move up the beach as the tide comes in
Out of its reach
Not to be overwhelmed
The pain is still there, but in control
We can recognise the pain
Revisiting the sadness
Acknowledging how much the person is missed
We learn to turn away and look to the future
Knowing the person will always be part of us
Always loved and always remembered
